Strategic Advisory Board Member (Investment Banking & Capital Markets)
Pathway to Non-Executive Director (NED)
The Context
StrataLens is not just another consultancy. We are the architects of the new insurance data economy. Born from the observation that "insurance professionals are spending more time finding data than analysing risk," we are closing the gap between legacy infrastructure and AI-driven decision-making. We are now poised for a significant capital event to scale our platform and consulting operations.
The Opportunity
We are inviting expressions of interest for a Strategic Advisory Board Member with a distinguished background in Investment Banking (M&A/ECM) or Private Equity. This is a high-impact, strategic engagement designed to guide StrataLens through its Series A/Growth fundraising lifecycle.
Note: This role is explicitly structured to transition into a formal Non-Executive Director (NED) seat upon the successful completion of key capital milestones.
Your Mandate
- Capital Architecture: You will act as the primary architect of our fundraising strategy. Utilising your deep experience in deal structuring, you will help us define the optimal capital mix, valuation framework, and investor narrative.
- Access & Influence: Leverage your Tier-1 network within the London and Global VC/PE communities to secure high-quality introductions. You are not just opening doors; you are curating our cap table.
- Governance Design: Mentor the founding team on the operational and financial rigor required by institutional investors. Help us build a board-ready governance structure that instills confidence in allocators.
- Commercial Strategy: Provide high-level counsel on M&A opportunities, strategic partnerships, and exit planning.
The Ideal Profile
- Pedigree: 15+ years in Investment Banking (Director/MD level) or as a Partner in a PE/VC fund. You have "seen the movie" of scaling and exiting technology services firms multiple times.
- Deal Sheet: A verifiable track record of executing capital raises ($5M - $50M+) or trade sales in the FinTech, Data, or Professional Services sectors.
- The "Gap" Mindset: You understand the systemic inefficiencies in the financial markets (particularly Insurance/Lloyd’s) and see the immense value in solving the "data plumbing" problem.
- Governance Expert: You have served on boards (Advisory or Statutory) and understand the nuances of fiduciary duty, audit committees, and remuneration strategy.
Compensation & Structure
- Phase 1 (Advisory): Significant Success Fee (Cash %) on capital raised + Equity Warrants.
- Phase 2 (NED): Upon transition, a market-leading Annual Director’s Fee (£35k-£50k range) + Additional Equity Grants + Committee Chairmanship opportunities.
